Former Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith is expected to recover from torn knee ligaments and be ready for the 2016 season, according to Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller.

SI’s Brian Hamilton reported earlier this month that Smith was expected to make a full recovery from his torn ACL and LCL sustained during the Fiesta Bowl. Smith declared for the draft after having surgery on his left knee.

Smith was once considered a lock to go in the first round of the upcoming draft, but the injury clouded the situation and has left his stock somewhat up in the air.

The 6'2", 240-pound linebacker finished his junior season at Notre Dame with a team-best 114 tackles, and ranked third on the team with nine tackles for loss.
