The Broncos beat the Panthers in Super Bowl 50 for their first title since 1998, when John Elway led Denver to back-to-back championships.

Peyton Manning struggled in the game, completing fewer than half of his passes with no touchdowns and an interception. He was sacked five times and fumbled twice, one of which was lost.

Running back C.J. Anderson had 90 rushing yards, including an impressive 34-yard carry in the second quarter. He also scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to extend Denver’s lead to two touchdowns.

Denver was led by its defense, which recorded seven sacks, forced three fumbles and intercepted Cam Newton once.

The Panthers were seeking their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history.
