Report: LeSean McCoy investigated for allegedly assaulting two cops
Bills running back LeSean McCoy is the subject of a police investigation after he allegedly assaulted two off-duty officers early Sunday morning in Philadelphia, local TV station WPVI reports.
According to the police report from the incident, McCoy and three other men had a “physical altercation” with the two officers at a Philadelphia bar around 2:45 a.m. after an argument over a bottle of champagne. One of the alleged victims was knocked to the ground and “punched, kicked and stomped about his body multiple times by all four suspects” while on the ground.
The alleged victims are members of the Philadelphia Police Department and are both 40-year-old men. One was treated at a hospital for a laceration to his right eye, broken nose, broken ribs and sprained thumb. The other was evaluated for a possible skull fracture and received eight stitches over his left eye.
CSN Philly’s John Gonzalez reports that one of McCoy’s friends involved in the incident is former Chargers running back Curtis Brinkley, a Philadelphia native.
No arrests were made but WPVI reports that McCoy’s group is the focus of the investigation.
McCoy, 27, played six seasons in Philadelphia with the Eagles before being traded to the Bills last March. He rushed for 895 yards in 12 games during his first season in Buffalo.
