Tuesday February 9th, 2016

Denver mayor Michael Hancock and governor John Hickenlooper signed a proclamation that officially declares February 9th as "Pat Bowlen Day" in honor of the Denver Broncos owner.

Pat Bowlen was unable to attend Sunday's Super Bowl victory over the Carolina Panthers or Tuesday's parade as he battles Alzheimer's disease.

During the on-field celebration after the game, John Elway raised the Lombardi Trophy and said, “This one is for Pat!” It was a tribute after Bowlen raised the trophy after the Super Bowl XXXII victory and dedicated the award to Elway.

Bowlen is the first NFL owner to obtain 300 career victories by his 30th season.
