The Detroit Lions have released running back Joique Bell, according to the NFL’s transaction wire.

Bell, who went undrafted, joined the Lions in 2012. He played in 13 games last season, running the ball 90 times for 311 yards and four touchdowns. 

Bell’s participation in the Lions’ offense decreased dramatically in 2015. In the previous two seasons, he ran the ball over 380 times combined.

Bell, 29, has averaged 4.0 yards per carry on 561 rushing attempts in his career. He has scored 23 touchdowns combined rushing and receiving.

Detroit finished 7–9 last season, good for third place in the NFC North.
