Randy Gregory suspended four games for substance abuse violation
Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory has been suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, the team announced Friday.
Gregory was a highly touted prospect while at Nebraska but fell to the second round after testing positive for marijuana during the NFL combine. He has also reportedly dealt with mental health issues.
The Cowboys selected Gregory with the 60th pick of the 2015 draft. He suffered an ankle injury during his NFL debut and missed four games. In 12 games as a rookie, he recorded seven solo tackles and no sacks.
