San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Anthony Davis is applying for reinstatement to the NFL, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Davis, 26, announced last June he wanted to take at least one year off from the NFL to rest his mind and body. The 49ers own the rights to Davis’s contract if he is reinstated.

San Francisco selected Davis with the No. 11 pick in the 2010 NFL draft. He signed a five-year contract with the team that summer.

Davis started 64 straight games from 2010–2013, then played in only seven during 2014.
