The new league year doesn’t start until 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday, but several teams around the league have already made unofficial moves to help improve their rosters.

No team has been more active than the Philadelphia Eagles, who traded star running back DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee Titans, as well as cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Miami Dolphins.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has officially retired after nine seasons, the team announced.

The Denver Broncos and Houston Texans are the two favorites to sign quarterback Brock Osweiler, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Osweiler was involved in a physical altercation outside a pizza shop early Saturday morning in which he appeared to shove a woman in a video obtained by TMZ.

The Washington Redskins announced they have officially released quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Miami is expected to reach an agreement with free-agent defensive end Mario Williams on Tuesday, reports Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

The Oakland Raiders have reached an agreement with guard Kelechi Osemele, paying him more that $11 million per year, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
