The Jets will sign former Bears running back Matt Forte, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
New York would also reportedly like to bring back free agent Bilal Powell, and has expressed interest in former Buccaneers tailback Bobby Rainey.
Forte, 30, spent the first eight seasons of his career in Chicago, rushing for an average of 71.7 yards per game. He missed three games in 2015 due to injury, and totaled 898 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
The veteran is known for his pass-catching ability, and is two years removed from a 100-reception season.
