The New Orleans Saints are expected to sign defensive tackle Nick Fairley, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.
Fairley played in 15 games for the St. Louis Rams last season, recording 29 tackles and a 1/2 sack.
Fairley spent the first four seasons of his career with the Detroit Lions, who selected him in the first round of the 2011 draft. The Saints are looking for help along the defensive line after finishing second-to-last in rush defense last year, allowing over 129 yards per game on the ground.
In his career, Fairley has played in 61 games, recording 127 tackles, 14 sacks and four forced fumbles.
