The New England Patriots have signed veteran nose tackle Terrance Knighton, he announced Thursday.

He joins the team on a one-year deal worth $4.5 million, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Knighton, 29, tweeted on Thursday that he had made a decision about which team he would sign with. He later tweeted a photo of himself wearing a Patriots helmet and jersey.

Knighton spent 2015 with the Washington Redskins on a one-year deal, but parts ways with the team after meeting with the front office this week.

Over his seven-year career, Knighton has made 159 tackles and 14 sacks.
