The Cincinnati Bengals' ownership is becoming impatient with coach Marvin Lewis, reports Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole.
Lewis, who enters the final year of his contract in 2016, has been Cincinnati’s head coach since 2003. He has led the Bengals to a .500 record or better in 10 of his 13 seasons, though he is winless in seven playoff trips.
The Bengals lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC wild-card round this year, and after the game, many criticized Lewis for failing to control his players.
“I commend Marvin’s achievements,” Bengals owner Mike Brown said last month. “He’s done remarkably well with our football team here, in recent years especially. I respect him. I like him personally. He’s going to be our coach this year. That’s in the bank. Where it goes, we’ll see how it plays out.”
