Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey underwent surgery to repair a small tear in the meniscus of his right knee, the team announced Tuesday.

He is expected to return by training camp and be ready when the team opens the regular season against the Green Bay Packers.

The Jaguars drafted Ramsey out of Florida State with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. He suffered the knee injury while participating in on-field workouts.

Dante Fowler, the team's first-round pick last year, tore his ACL in a 11-on-11 drill in training camp and missed his rookie season.
