The Miami Dolphins have signed cornerback Chris Culliver to a one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday.

The Dolphins placed Culliver on the physically unable to perform list due to his ongoing recovery from a knee injury. The team also announced that center Jacques McClendon and linebacker Danny Lansanah had been released.

Culliver, 28, was selected in the third round of the 2011 draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He spent three seasons with San Francisco before playing one season with the Washington Redskins. After he was limited to just six games last season with a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee, he was released by the team in May.

Over the course of his career, Culliver has 143 combined tackles, three forced fumbles and seven interceptions.
