Tom Brady will start at quarterback on Thursday night as the New England Patriots close out the preseason against the New York Giants, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.
Jimmy Garoppolo is not expected to play on Thursday, but will start in the first four weeks of the regular season as Brady serves a suspension for his role in the Deflategate scandal. Regular season starters do not typically play in the final game of the preseason.
Rookie Jacoby Brissett may see some snaps as he will serve as Garoppolo's back-up this season.
The Giants are not expected to play quarterback Eli Manning.
The Patriots open the season on Sept. 11 against the Arizona Cardinals.
