Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will have surgery later this week to repair a left knee injury, reports ESPN's Ed Werder.

According to the report, the surgery is set for Thursday as doctors will repair Bridgewater's anterior cruciate ligament and other structural damage done to his knee.

Bridgewater was injured last week during a non-contact portion of practice.

The Vikings made a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles last week, bringing in quarterback Sam Bradford as Bridgewater's possible replacement. Minnesota gave up next year's first-round pick as a well as a conditional fourth-rounder in 2018 to acquire Bradford.

Although veteran Shaun Hill is listed as the starter on team's unofficial depth chart for Week 1, he and Bradford are expected to split first-team reps in practice this week. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer has yet to name a starter for the team's season opener on Sept. 11 against the Tennessee Titans
