Few things stir up the emotions of die-hard sports fans quite like a beloved player leaving his team to sign with a rival club. Steve Smith's finding out just how brutal the reaction to a move like that can be.

The four-year veteran of the Giants inked a one-year deal with New York's hated NFC East foe, Philadelphia. And that's quickly changed the opinions many Giants fans had about Smith.

We've seen this type of story line play out plenty of times across all sports, so the reaction is nothing new. In case you want to circle the date on your calendar: Eagles at Giants, Nov. 20. If Smith's on the field, it might be a bit of a rough homecoming.
