An abbreviated look at what’s going on around the NFL on Monday, Aug. 29:
• The Colts took a shot this free agent period on three players looking to rejuvenate their NFL careers: Ernie Sims, Tommie Harris and Jamaal Anderson. All three are finally starting to show something on the field.
• Robert Quinn had to sit out the entire 2010 NCAA season, so by the time the preseason started, it had been a full year since he'd played football competitively. But Quinn is quickly shaking off the rust.
• Undrafted rookie WR Dane Sanzenbacher was a longshot to make Chicago's roster this season. The former Ohio State wide receiver has bucked those odds so far and looks like he'll survive roster cuts. • Tampa Bay is in good shape at quarterback with Josh Johnson and Josh Freeman. Rudy Carpenter may have done what he needed to in order to make that a three-deep attack.
