An abbreviated look at what’s going on around the NFL on Monday, Sept. 26:

Aaron Ross bounced back from an awful Week 2 performance against the Rams to play a key role in the Giants' win Sunday in Philadelphia. His early interception of Michael Vick set the stage for New York's big day, while his late pick of Mike Kafka sealed the victory.

• Right guard Chris Kuper asked Broncos coach John Fox to run the ball on 4th-and-goal from Tennessee's 1 Sunday. The Titans stuffed Willis McGahee, though, and Kuper took the blame for the play.

Calvin Johnson had a pair of touchdown receptions and made a dazzling grab to set up Detroit's game-winning field goal in overtime. But it was tight end Brandon Pettigrew who was Matthew Stafford's favorite target Sunday.

Falcons QB Matt Ryan threw 17 passes in Roddy White's direction Sunday, most of them coming with cornerback E.J. Biggers defending. And Biggers felt like he held his own.

• How bad was Kansas City's offense in the first half against San Diego? Here's a closer look at the numbers.

• Cincinnati's defense turned in a stellar performance against the 49ers ... until the final minutes of the fourth quarter, when San Francisco marched for a game-winning score. • Bears center Roberto Garza says that his team's offensive line is at fault for the struggles Matt Forte has had this season.
