It's a new, RGIII-led era for the Redskins. On Sunday, though, it was the same old bizarre calamity for Washington.
The team are without safety Brandon Meriweather and receiver Aldrick Robinson against the Buccaneers because of a bizarre incident in warmups that saw Meriweather, backtracking without looking where he was going, knock into a stationary Robinson, sending both players to the turf. Meriweather, who has already missed the first three games of the season with a left knee injury but was expecting to make his season debut, was having that same knee looked at by Redskins trainers after the collision, while Robinson was having his head and neck examined.
Robinson has been a valuable receiver this year, with 104 yards and a touchdown for a unit that wasn't expected to boast much talent this year. Meriweather, meanwhile, has been missing from a secondary that is severely shorthanded.
