Colts go bald in support of Chuck Pagano

The Indianapolis Colts have gone 4-1 since their head coach, Chuck Pagano, announced that he was suffering from leukemia and took a leave of absence. Pagano joined his team in the locker room following Sunday's win over the Dolphins and [si_launchNFLPopup video='f8a7a94cb3184e958e145a82ba7b507e']delivered a victory speech[/si_launchNFLPopup] -- arguably, the most emotional and inspiring moment of the NFL season thus far.

And while the Colts continue to hunt a playoff berth on the field, they're also rallying together off it to show support for their coach. In honor of Pagano, whose cancer is now, thankfully, in remission, several members of the team [si_launchNFLPopup video='de7ee5db08014eff8d52a81f22566a8e']shaved their heads after Tuesday's practice[/si_launchNFLPopup].

That's Andrew Luck (No. 12) tucked away in the back there -- we'll no doubt see much more of Luck's bald dome on Thursday night, when the Colts face Jacksonville in a nationally-televised game.

His teammate, Robert Mathis, expressed his appreciation for Luck's participation, on Twitter:

Tight end Coby Fleener, also a teammate of Luck's at Stanford, used the opportunity to took a shot at his quarterback:

More than 20 players in all took part in the head-shaving. Long snapper Matt Overton tweeted out a better look at (left to right) himself, punter Pat McAfee and kicker Adam Vinatieri following the impromptu barbershop session:

Defensive back Sergio Brown took things in a different direction. Rather than say farewell to his trademark dreadlocks, Brown dyed his hair orange -- that's the color used to show support for leukemia research, like the color pink for breast cancer.

He posted a picture of his new look on Instagram:

There remains an indefinite timetable on Pagano's absence from the Colts, though interim coach Bruce Arians said last week that the hope is that Pagano can return for Indianapolis' Week 17 game on Dec. 30. In the meantime, it's clear, even more so now, that his team has not forgotten him.
