Jay Cutler, Julio Jones injury updates: Week 12's key actives/inactives

The Bears lost to the 49ers last week with Jay Cutler on the shelf. (Nam Y. Huh/AP)

Will Julio Jones suit up on Sunday? How about Jay Cutler, Darren Sproles or Greg Jennnings? We're keeping an eye on those players and more in this week's active/inactive watch ...

Active

Danny Amendola, WR, Rams (heel): Amendola continues to prove himself one of the tougher guys in the league. As of early Sunday, reports indicated that Amendola would sit against Arizona. He convinced his coaches otherwise during warmups.

Plaxico Burress, WR, Steelers: Considering the Steelers signed Burress because of a depleted receiving corps, it's no stunner that he'll be in the lineup Sunday. He may have to play a relatively big role, too, given the attention Mike Wallace is sure to command; Antonio Brown, normally the Steelers No. 2 option, is inactive.

Jay Cutler, QB, Bears (head): After missing last week's nightmarish Chicago outing in San Francisco, Cutler will reclaim his starting QB job Sunday. Cutler had to pass the league's concussion tests before being reactivated, but he should show no ill effects of his initial injury.

Julio Jones, WR, Atlanta (ankle): Jones played through injury only to exit early last week. He'll try to last an entire 60 minutes on Sunday, in a key game against Tampa Bay. It's unclear, though, exactly how much the Falcons will use him. Jones' teammate, Asante Samuel, also plans to play after being listed as questionable with a shoulder injury.

Alex Smith, QB, 49ers (head): Smith will dress Sunday, but as SI's Jim Trotter reported earlier this week, he will be relegated to a backup role behind Colin Kaepernick.

•  Demaryius Thomas, WR, Broncos (knee): Thomas was listed as probable, though he was limited a bit in practice this week. He appeared to injure his knee two weeks ago, but he missed very few snaps.

Inactive

Coby Fleener, TE, Colts (shoulder): Fleener is moving closer toward a return -- he's now missed four straight games -- but Week 13 may be the target. Again, Dwayne Allen will be Andrew Luck's top tight end target.

• Percy Harvin, WR, Vikings (ankle): Harvin will miss his second consecutive game. He did not even travel with the Vikings to Chicago this week.

Andrew Hawkins, WR, Bengals (knee): The Bengals deemed Hawkins doubtful for Sunday, then made his absence official. It's the second straight week that Hawkins has missed, opening the door for rookie Mohamed Sanu.

• Eric Wright, CB, Buccaneers (Achilles): Should Jones be at 100 percent, it could be bad news for the Bucs without Wright. Tampa Bay entered Week 12 having allowed more passing yards than any other defense.
