Andy Levitre signs with Tennessee Titans

The top interior lineman in this year's free-agent class lasted all of 30 minutes on the market. Andy Levitre reached an agreement on a deal with the Tennessee Titans for five years and $39 million, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

That's a huge pickup for the Titans, and also a massive financial commitment -- at just shy of $8 million per year, Levitre's deal would make him the second highest-paid member on Tennessee's roster, behind only running back Chris Johnson.

Of course, the Titans might not mind handing over the kind of dough after Steve Hutchinson, who retired Tuesday, struggled mightily along the interior of their line. Levitre represents a substantial upgrade there, especially in the pass game, where he's one of the best in the NFL.

Levitre's arrival spells good news for both Chris Johnson and QB Jake Locker (assuming Locker maintains his starting job). With Michael Roos at left tackle, Fernando Velasco back at center and Levitre forming the base of their line, the Titans will be tough to deal with up front.

Grade: B-plus. The Titans got the best player available at a position of need. The only thing keeping this grade from A-plus range is the huge financial commitment Tennessee had to make.
