Report: Aaron Hernandez pens letter from jail: 'Can't wait to ... prove all the haters wrong'

In what is reportedly a letter handwritten by the jailed Aaron Hernandez to an unidentified supporter, the former New England Patriots tight end insists he has "always been a great person" and that he will play in the NFL again.

TMZ, which obtained the letter, reports that it verified the document with law enforcement, which confirmed that it is indeed a note written by Hernandez from prison. Ironically, a postscript from Hernandez begs "Keep this off social media PLEASE!"

At the close of the one-page letter, Hernandez signs his name (complete with his old number, 81, above it) and then adds, "Can't wait to sign this [autographs] again when I'm playing again an [sic] prove all the haters and [text cut off] talkers wrong!"

It could be a very, very long time before Hernandez can even begin thinking about an NFL return. He's currently facing a charge of murder, as well as additional weapons charges, stemming from the death of Odin Lloyd in June. Investigations have continued since then, with the possibility still there that Hernandez could be linked to other violent incidents in the past.

Even if he somehow sidesteps all of this legal trouble, Hernandez no longer has an NFL team after the Patriots cut him following his arrest. He also eventually could be dealt a lengthy suspension by the NFL, should this situation come to that.

Hernandez, though, at least according to this letter, certainly seems to believe brighter days are ahead.

"I know everything happens for a reason and I know 'God' has a plan for me and something good will come out of this," he writes. "The world just makes things of false accusations and it will all die down especially when they say NOT GUILTY and all the people who have turned on me will feel like crap."
