Baltimore Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones suffered a sprained MCL in the team's season-opening loss to the Denver Broncos, and he hasn't played since.  Jones was hit by safety Brynden Trawick -- his own teammate -- on a punt return, and apparently, that wasn't the last of his bad luck in 2013.

According to TMZ.com, Jones was on board a party bus in Washington, D.C., celebrating the birthday of Ravens offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie. Also reportedly on the bus was a stripper named "Sweet Pea," who at some point hit Jones over the head with a bottle of Ace of Spades champagne. Per the report from an alleged eyewitness, the bottle was smashed over Jones' head, and he was "bleeding everywhere."

McKinnie put a flyer for the event up on his Instagram account after the Ravens' 30-9 win over the Houston Texans. And someone with the handle "1sweetpallday" put a picture up on her Instagram account that seemed to indicate she was on a bus that was soon to be populated by Ravens players..

It's believed that the bottle attack may have started a larger melee at about 3 a.m. as people in the party were leaving D.C.'s Opera Ultra Lounge. The report indicates that Jones' friends tried to retaliate against Ms. "Sweet Pea," but that McKinnie intervened, and that's when the fight escalated.

There is currently no indication as to what angered the aggrieved stripper. The report also indicates that an ambulance was called to assist a "bleeding male," but nobody was hospitalized. Police responded, but nobody would cooperate with them, and no arrests were made.

"Not very impressed, personally, with the report. It's not something we want to be known for." Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said at his Monday press conference. "What do you want to be known for? Do you want to be known as a football player, or do you want to be known for that?"

Baltimore radio station WNST sent this out on Twitter Monday morning:

Jones' agent, Kennard McGuire, told Aaron Wilson of the Sun that, "Contrary to reports, Jacoby is fine and was back at practice today with his normal rehab routine."

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio also heard from a team source that Jones is at the facility and in meetings.

Chad Steele, the team's Director of Public Relations, told the Baltimore News Journal that the Ravens are "aware of the TMZ report" and offered no further comment. The story does present a good opportunity for a gentle reminder: Very few good things happen at 3 a.m. Though Ravens linebacker Daryl Smith would beg to differ -- he and his wife welcomed a new baby girl into the world at approximately 2:00 a.m. Monday, per the Ravens' official Twitter feed.
