Broncos open as 28-point favorites for Week 6 matchup with Jaguars
Both the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars are in action this week -- Denver at Dallas; Jacksonville at St. Louis -- so there's still time to debate the degree to which those teams will be mismatched when they meet in Week 6.
The folks in Las Vegas, though, already have set an historic precedent for the game:
Oct.13-Jaguars vs Broncos-Denver is a 28 point favorite. That is the highest point spread ever booked. It's on the board & ready for betting.

The 28-point spread is right about where folks in the know speculated it might land.
The Jaguars opened as 19.5-point underdogs back in Week 3, when they traveled to Seattle. The Seahawks easily covered that massive spread, winning 45-17 despite a late push from the visitors.
"With the Broncos rolling once again yesterday and the Jags getting blown out, I have been asked numerous times already what the projected Week 6 spread will be when Denver hosts Jacksonville," Bovada sports book manager Kevin Bradley said via email. "Before (Week 4) I would have said it would be three touchdowns but considering (last Sunday's) results, the fact that Seattle easily covered 19.5 at home against Jacksonville, and how our bettors have been pounding Denver every week and betting against the Jags like it is free money, this spread is looking closer to four touchdowns.
"Barring any injuries or something very dramatic occurring, I would expect this to be the biggest spread we have ever posted."
The widest betting margin in recent history came during the Patriots' perfect regular season in 2007. After starting with a 10-0 mark, they were tabbed as 24.5-point favorites over the Eagles in Week 11 -- then had to rally for a 27-24 victory.
