Report: RB Ben Tate signs two-year deal with Browns

Running back Ben Tate, as expected, signed a two-year deal with the Browns on Saturday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal is worth about $7 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

The 25-year-old ran for 771 yards and four touchdowns on 181 carries last season in 14 games, including 503 yards and three touchdowns in six games as the team's primary back after Foster went down with a hamstring injury.

A second-round pick out of Auburn in 2010, Tate has 1,992 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns and six lost fumbles on 421 carries in three seasons (he missed his entire rookie season with a broken ankle). He also has 58 career receptions for 287 yards, and has missed eight games in the last three seasons.

He'll try to bolster a Browns running game that was 27th in the league last season with 86.9 rushing yards per game.
