Bruce Arians thinks Cardinals can play in Arizona Super Bowl
The opportunity to play in a Super Bowl at your home stadium is an experience that every team hopes to earn, but only one franchise can strive for that goal each season. This year, the Arizona Cardinals will be the team in search of the honor with Super Bowl XLIX being played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
The Cardinals came on strong at the end of last season and showed plenty of promise, which has led head coach Bruce Arians to believe his team has what it takes to make a home Super Bowl appearance a reality.
“I ain’t afraid of it,” Arians said, via the team's official website. “We played well at the end of the season. If we can do that early, the confidence of the core of the team is back. Our leadership is back. We are talented enough. Talent is not the issue. I told them that last year but they didn’t believe me until it was too late. There is no reason we can’t be the first team to play a home Super Bowl. Absolutely no reason.”
It won't be easy, especially enduring the NFC West gauntlet of the San Francisco 49ers and defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, but the Cardinals are certainly a team on the rise, and they could make a deep run if they keep their momentum from last season intact.
