Report: Maurice Jones-Drew to meet with Raiders

Free-agent running back Maurice Jones-Drew is set to meet with the Oakland Raiders Thursday night and Friday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, and talks could "get serious."

The New York Daily News reported earlier this week that four teams were interested in Jones-Drew. None of those four teams — the New York Jets, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Miami Dolphins — was Oakland. But the Raiders are Jones-Drew's hometown team, and ESPN.com's Adam Schefter quoted an unnamed source saying there's a "good chance" Jones-Drew ends up in Oakland.

The once-dominant Jones-Drew has seen his performance decline dramatically over the past two years in Jacksonville. Jones-Drew played in just six games in 2012, while dealing with a left foot injury. He played in 15 games in 2013, but he averaged a career-low 3.4 yards per carry.

The two disappointing seasons, however, followed three seasons of complete dominance. From 2009-11, he ran for at least 1,300 yards in each season and rushed for 28 touchdowns.

Jones-Drew reportedly believes he is still worth more than $3 million per year.
