Roger Goodell believes millions of fans want a team in Los Angeles

The NFL has not had a home in Los Angeles in nearly two decades, but there have been multiple pushes to change that reality. Amid the ongoing rumors surrounding plans to eventually bring a team back to Los Angeles, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has taken notice of the overwhelming fan support.

“We’ve been very open that if we had the right opportunity to be back in Los Angeles with the right formula, meaning a stadium, most importantly,” Goodell said, via Pro Football Talk.

“We know there are millions of fans who want a team there. We would love to do that, but it has to be successful. We are going to do it right if we are going to do it. There are different proposals out there and different opportunities but not one that we are focused on and can say that we have the right solution yet. We’re not there.”

BANKS: NFL's desire to 'clean up the game' will be easier said than done

There is no doubt that a team in Los Angeles would be met with plenty of support. The real question will be whether or not that team could find the financial support it would need for a new stadium.

So far, the NFL hasn't had any luck, which means we won't see an L.A. team anytime soon.
