Although the Arizona Cardinals have reportedly made a contract offer to Yeremiah Bell for the 2014 season, the veteran safety is leaning towards retirement, according to Fox Sports 910's Mike Jurecki.

The 36-year-old started every game for the Cardinals last season and has done so in five of his last six NFL seasons, but it appears as if the former Eastern Kentucky product wants to hang up the cleats.

It's certainly been a unique road to the NFL for Bell, who walked on at Eastern Kentucky after spending two years working at a local steel mill after a high school career during which he was not heavily recruited.

Bell was awarded a spot on the team but considered quitting during his freshman season. He stuck with the game and eventually was selected in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins after winning multiple collegiate awards including an All-America selection in 2001.

The strong safety spent portions of eight seasons with the Miami Dolphins before he joined the New York Jets in 2012, spending just one season in New York before joining the Cardinals.

If this is the end for Bell, he'll finish his NFL career with 726 tackles, 13 sacks, eight interceptions, nine forced fumbles and a 2009 Pro Bowl selection.
