If the visits the Jacksonville Jaguars have lined up for this week are any indication, the team with the No. 3 overall pick is seriously considering selecting a young signal-caller with its first-round selection.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network passed along news that the Jaguars will be meeting with Fresno State's Derek Carr on Wednesday, but he won't be alone on what will be a busy day at the team's facilities. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jaguars will also be hosting Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater and small-school standout Jimmy Garoppolo on the same day.
There is a good chance that either Manziel or Bridgewater -- maybe both -- will still be available when Jacksonville is on the clock, so both are intriguing options. However, the Jaguars could also choose to go a different route.
Jacksonville head coach Gus Bradley was reportedly impressed by Garoppolo after coaching him during the 2014 Senior Bowl, and the Eastern Illinois product has previously been linked to the team in the second-round. By waiting until the second to land its quarterback, the team could add one of the premier pass-rushers in this year's draft -- Jadeveon Clowney or Khalil Mack -- with its first-round pick.
It will be interesting to see which direction the Jaguars ultimately decide to go in May, but it looks like they plan to select their quarterback of the future to join a roster that currently has Chad Henne as the starter at that position.
