DeSean Jackson reportedly skipped exit meeting with Philadelphia Eagles
Once the 2013 season came to an end, former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson had no problem suggesting that he'd like a new contract, yet he couldn't even make it to the mandatory exit meeting with the team.
That's the word from CBSPhilly.com's Joseph Santoliquito, who reports that Jackson, for whatever reason, skipped his exit meeting with the Eagles.
Keep in mind, this meeting would have been just days after Philadelphia's season came to a conclusion, so no rumors of a potential trade or release had begun circulating through the media.
What it likely proved to be was another strike toward Jackson's status as an irritant in the eyes of the Eagles, who released the volatile wide receiver only to watch him sign with NFC East rival Washington earlier this month.
Clearly, the Eagles were rather perturbed with Jackson and his actions, as he was the only longtime member of the Eagles organization who departed this offseason without a well-wishing from team chairman Jeffrey Lurie in a press release. The CBSPhilly.com story details the fond farewells issued to Jason Avant and Michael Vick by the Eagles in contrast to the brief, formal statement accompanying Jackson's release. There's a chance Jackson was the only member of the Philadelphia Eagles' 53-man roster not to attend his exit interview, so clearly the relationship between the two sides was already severely deteriorating before the team cut ties with its star wideout.
