Former Missouri defensive end Michael Sam is all but assured of hearing his name called during the 2014 NFL draft; it's just a matter of when and by which team.
Some mock drafts have him going as high as the third round, though most seem to suggest he'll be more of a Day 3 selection. What's not in doubt is that there are a number of teams interested in the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year.

According to the Baltimore Sun, multiple NFL teams are said to be intrigued by Sam.
The Ravens are among the teams that have displayed the most interest in Sam since the NFL scouting combine along with the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns and New York Jets, according to league sources.
Sam doesn't bring with him the physical gifts of linebackers and defensive ends who'll be selected ahead of him, but what he will bring is an intense motor.
The former Tiger is likely best equipped to play in a 4-3 defense, but could find a role in a 3-4 that promotes a zone blitz. Not shockingly, the Ravens are of the teams that run that scheme.
