2014 NFL draft: Teddy Bridgewater, Jaguars to hold second meeting
At a time when Teddy Bridgewater is watching his draft stock plummet, the Jacksonville Jaguars are taking an extra interest in the former Louisville quarterback. After a meeting earlier in the run-up to the draft, Josina Anderson of ESPN is reporting the two sides will have another meeting next week.
Bridgewater will also hold a private workout with the team.
The Jaguars may be giving Bridgewater an extra look, but that does not necessarily mean that he will be their top choice when they are on the clock with the No. 3 overall pick in just under three weeks. However, it could mean that they are anticipating a draft-day slide for Bridgewater and want to be prepared if he is still on the board.
It is looking more and more like Bridgewater could fall into the second half of the first round and potentially even into the second round, where the Jaguars could still land him after spending their top pick on a pass rusher or an offensive weapon like wide receiver Sammy Watkins. It is going to be interesting to see what happens on the Bridgewater front when the first round officially gets underway, but until then, we will have to wait and see whether the talk of him sliding down the boards is a reality or merely a smokescreen.
