Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans is one of the top players at his position in the 2014 NFL draft class, with many believing he is the best receiver not named Sammy Watkins and that he's deserving of top-ten consideration.
Because of his size, Evans brings some physicality to the position along with his ability to stretch the field, and that has led to the former Aggies star comparing himself to Chicago Bears wideout Brandon Marshall.
"I get a lot of Vincent Jackson comparisons, and that's a great comparison," Evans said, according to timesonline.com. "But I think Brandon Marshall. He's vicious after the catch. A big, physical guy, can go up and get it, blocks real well. So I've modeled my game after him since high school."
The comparison would make sense with Evans being one of the only players able to match Jackson's size on the outside, and if he can replicate any of Marshall's production that has led to multiple Pro Bowl appearances, the team that selects him will be happy with its pick. Two of the most commonly linked teams to Evans are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at No. 7 overall and Detroit Lions at No. 10.
