The Cleveland Browns are doing what they can to establish authority in advance of Johnny Football Mania.

Just days after all but telling the former Texas A&M star Johnny Manziel to "know his role" as a backup quarterback, the Browns have stomped their feet again, this time in regard to the media.

According to Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post, Cleveland will not allow any national media access during their rookie mini-camp, a reverse of culture for a franchise that has allowed coverage of the event in the past.

The reason? The team's "tight grip" on Manziel, and its desire to keep the situation from resembling the media circus that followed Tim Tebow.

It's certainly a unique move and one that will turn a handful of heads, though, it might be best for the Browns organization, Manziel and his fellow rookies as a media circus could undermine the purpose of a mini-camp.

Of course, the interest in Manziel is massive, so this move is simply delaying the inevitable media rush.
