Details emerge in arrest of Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy

Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy has yet to be convicted of any crime, but the reports of his alleged assault continue to emerge and they're not promising.

Currently charged with misdemeanor assault, Hardy was released from jail on Wednesday afternoon after being arrested on Tuesday morning.

Details were scarce when the story was initially reported, but the woman allegedly involved says that her life was threatened by Hardy.

In the protective order request, the woman said Hardy picked her up and threw her into the tiled tub area of a bathroom. He then dragged her into the bedroom, choked her, picked her up again and "threw [her] onto a couch covered in assault rifles and/or shotguns."

"Hardy bragged that all of those assault rifles were loaded," the motion stated.

She said that Hardy threatened to shoot her if she went to the media or reported the assault to anyone.

In a contrasting portrayal of events, TMZ has reported that Hardy called 911 and told the operator that his girlfriend had initially attacked him with a shoe. He said she had drawn blood while hitting him, and that he suspected she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The Panthers released a statement on the ordeal, stating they were "very disappointed to learn of the allegations involving Greg and are concerned for all parties as we continue to investigate."
