Contract talks between Jim Harbaugh and San Francisco 49ers reportedly stalled
The San Francisco 49ers took care of contract matters with their star quarterback this week when they agreed with Colin Kaepernick on a six-year extension worth $110 million -- $61 million guaranteed.
But what about their head coach, Jim Harbaugh, who has been the brains behind their successful run the past few seasons?
The news on that front doesn't appear to be as promising as Pro Football Talk is reporting that talks between Harbaugh and the organization have come to a halt for now, with the coach being the one doing the stalling.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, not much is happening. The 49ers have made an offer to Harbaugh, and Harbaugh has yet to respond to it.
Like PFT also stated, and what has been common knowledge since the talks became public, Harbaugh wants to be paid like a coach who has won the Super Bowl, although he hasn't. Despite leading the team to three consecutive NFC Championship Game appearances, he's been in the big game once, two years ago, losing to his brother John and the Ravens.
As of now, Harbaugh's current deal with the team runs through 2015, and he has insisted on a few occasions this offseason that he intends to see the next two years through in San Francisco.Time will tell.
