Heatley, Quick, Henrik Sedin named Stars of Week

Left wing Dany Heatley of the San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick, and Vancouver Canucks center Henrik Sedin were named the NHL's Three Stars for the week ending Oct. 11.

FIRST STAR: Dany Heatley

Heatley led the NHL with eight points (5-3--8) as the Sharks won twice in three games. On Oct. 6, Heatly scored a goal and added two assists as the Sharks lost to the King, 6-4. On Oct. 8, he posted a hat trick -- including the game-winning goal -- with an assist in a 6-3 win over Columbus. Two nights later, he tallied the game-winning goal in San Jose's 4-2 win over Minnesota. Heatley finished the week tied for the NHL lead with 10 points (5-5-0).

SECOND STAR -- Jonathan Quick

The 23-year-old goaltender stopped 80 of the 88 shots he faced last week while winning three games with a 2.67 goals-against average and .909 save percentage. Quick made 25 saves in a 6-4 win over San Jose on Oct. 6 and 26 in a 6-3 win over Minnesota on Oct. 8. Quick was especially sharp in a 2-1 win over St. Louis on Oct. 10, finished with 29 saves.

THIRD STAR -- Henrik Sedin

Sedin chalked up seven points (3-4-7), including a goal in a 5-3 loss to Columbus on Oct. 5, a pair of tallies and two assists in a 7-1 win over Montreal on Oct. 7, and two assists in a 4-3 shootout win over Dallas on Oct 11. After five games, Sedin is Vancouver's leading scorer (3-5-8).
