Bryan Allen has seven assists and a plus-13 rating in 40 games this season for the NHL-leading Ducks.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Ducks defenseman Bryan Allen has been placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

Anaheim also recalled defenseman Nolan Yonkman from its AHL affiliate in Norfolk on Tuesday.

Allen has seven assists and a plus-13 rating in 40 games this season for the NHL-leading Ducks. He sat out against Edmonton last Friday, but returned to the lineup for Sunday's victory over Vancouver.

Yonkman arrived in Anaheim in time for warmups before Tuesday night's game against Boston. The veteran suited up for two games earlier this season for the Ducks, getting one assist.

Anaheim already was without injured defensemen Luca Sbisa and Sheldon Souray, who hasn't played all season.
