The New York Rangers re-signed forward Chris Kreider, the team announced Wednesday.

CBC Sports' Tim Wharnsby reports that it is a two-year deal worth $4.95 million. Kreider will get $2.35 million in year one and $2.6 million in year two of the deal.

Kreider recorded 37 points for the Rangers in 2013-14, scoring 17 goals and assisting on 20 more. He debuted late in the 2012-13 season after being drafted with the 19th pick of the 2009 NHL draft.

The Rangers made it to the Stanley Cup Final last season for the first time since 1994, but lost to the Los Angeles Kings in five games.
