Report: Free agent Jordin Tootoo rejects two-way deal from Jets

Unrestricted free agent forward Jordin Tootoo rejected a two-way deal from the Winnipeg Jets, according to Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun.

The report did not disclose the financial terms that the Jets offered Tootoo.

Tootoo scored six goals and recorded 12 assists and 104 penalty minutes in 51 games for Grand Rapids, the Detroit Red Wings' American Hockey League affiliate.

Detroit bought out Tootoo's final year of his contract for $1.33 million after he was set to make $2 million in 2014-15. Tootoo, a 10-year NHL veteran, played in 11 NHL games last season, recording one assist.
