Bruins' Kevan Miller dislocated shoulder in fight, out indefinitely

Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller dislocated his right shoulder during a fight in Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres. Miller fought Sabres forward Nicolas Deslauriers during the first quarter of the Bruins' 4-0 win. At the end of the fight, Miller fell to the ice and landed hard on his elbow and shoulder.

Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller dislocated his right shoulder during a fight in Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres, the team announced on Monday.

Miller fought Sabres forward Nicolas Deslauriers during the first quarter of the Bruins' 4-0 win. At the end of the fight, Miller fell to the ice and landed hard on his elbow and shoulder.

Miller, who turns 27 next month, is in his second season with the Bruins. The Bruins have outscored opponents by four goals during his time on the ice this season. Last season, he had one goal and five assists in 47 games with a plus-20 rating.

Boston has opened the season 3-4-0 and is in fifth place in the Atlantic Division. Centers Carl Soderberg and Chris Kelly lead the team with five points. Loui Eriksson, Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci are tied for third with four points apiece.

Starting goalie Tuuka Rask has 2.90 goals against average while saving 87 percent of shots faced and has a 2-3-0 record. Backup Niklas Svedberg is 3-1-1 and has saved 96.9 percent of shots faced with a 0.91 goals against average.

The Bruins host the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
