Coyotes waive defenseman Schlemko

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Coyotes have waived defenseman David Schlemko.

The 27-year-old Schlemko has appeared in seven games this season, with one assist and a plus/minus rating of minus-3.

He was a healthy scratch in five straight games before playing in Arizona's 5-3 loss to Calgary Thursday night.

Schlemko has spent parts of seven seasons with the Coyotes, with eight goals and 39 assists in 194 career games.

He will be assigned to the Portland Pirates of the AHL if he is not claimed on waivers.
