Colorado Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov will miss a "couple weeks" with a groin injury, coach Patrick Roy told the Denver Post.

An MRI on Monday showed Varlamov has a "groin problem." It's the third time Varlamov has injured his groin this season. 

The Avalanche recalled rookie goalie Calvin Pickard shortly after the latest injury, and Pickard will start on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators

Varlamov, 26, has played in 15 games this season and will miss his 10th of the season on Tuesday due to groin injuries. He has a .909 save percentage in 2014-15 with one shutout and a 3.22 goals against average.

Colorado is 9-12-6 this season heading into Tuesday night's game against Nashville.
