Several NHL players have been diagnosed with the mumps this season, an outbreak believed to have originated in the locker room of either the Los Angeles Kings or Anaheim Ducks. Symptoms include swelling of the salivary glands.

Crosby will miss Friday's game against the Flames and Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets.
