The holidays are a time for spending time with people you care about, but they’re also a time for busting out ugly sweaters.

In keeping with that tradition, the Reading Royals of the ECHL had their second Ugly Holiday Sweater night on Saturday. The Philadelphia Flyers affiliate sported specially themed jerseys that certainly fit the bill:

Though the colors this year were a tad more subdued and less blinding than last season’s, they were clearly enough to distract the evening’s opponent, as the Royals skated to a 2-1 victory over the Wheeling Nailers. Thankfully, we're all able to see the holiday garb in action:

It bears noting that Reading is a team for all seasons, as its Halloween jerseys were equal parts scary and fashionable.

For those looking to rock the look at the season's holiday parties, the team has made the jerseys -- as well as a bobblehead of the team's mascot Slapshot -- available for purchase.
