Wild's Granlund out 4 weeks after wrist surgery

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) Minnesota Wild center Mikael (mee-KYE'-uhl) Granlund has undergone surgery to repair a broken left wrist, an injury expected to keep him out for a month.

The Wild were in Winnipeg to play the Jets on Monday. The team announced the procedure for Granlund in Minnesota went as planned, putting the timetable for his recovery at approximately four weeks.

Granlund was hurt on Saturday by a check from Jets right wing Dustin Byfuglien. Granlund has four goals and 11 assists with a plus-2 rating in 32 games this season.

Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin also left the game on Saturday with an upper-body injury and did not travel with the team to Winnipeg. Neither did goalie Niklas Backstrom and left wing Jason Zucker, due to illness.
