Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Johnny Oduya will miss "a couple of weeks" with an upper body injury, head coach Joel Quenneville announced on Monday.

Oduya left Sunday's loss to the Boston Bruins in the first period after sustaining the injury, which will force him to be sidelined for the first time this season.

In 60 games this season, Oduya has two goals and three assists and averages 20:06 minutes on the ice per game. He is fourth among Chicago defensemen in average ice time. The 33-year-old is in his ninth NHL season and has tallied 147 career points.

The Blackhawks (35-20-5) host the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
